Yesterday the spotlight was on a very special player to me, my youngest son, Jacob (affectionately know as Hatchet to his Coaches). Jacob was one of the initial reasons I got into Coaching Youth football, so that he had the opportunity to play in a club alongside his older brother, Joshua.
That sent into place a chain of events which gave us all the opportunity to start the Phoenix Youth FC journey, with some amazing young players, supportive parents and some committed coaches and so far it has been a thoroughly enjoyable season. Yesterday also marks FOUR years to the day since we were given the news that Jacob had a Wilms Tumour and Stage 2 Cancer. Four years on he is a healthy, active young boy, who is forming amazing friendships with the rest of his team and shows no signs of letting up on the football pitch. #respect #inclusion #diversity #phoenixyouthfc
